NXT Ultrasonic Sensor & Light Sensor

This week class session, we are exploring about Ultrasonic and Light Sensor that we decided to be use in our final project.

  1. Light Sensor


This sensor is used purposely as robot vision. The sensor that also have same functions as light sensor is ultrasonic sensor. The light sensor enables our robot to distinguish between light and dark. it can measures the light intensity of coloured surfaces and also light intensity in the room.


2. Ultrasonic Sensor

This sensor enables robot to see and detects objects. it also can be used to make our robot to avoid obstacles, measure distance and detect movement.

Robot Name: Hit the Ball




We were required to build the robot and program it to detect the colour red and hit the red object. We programmed the robot and it was set up in front of a pedestal, where two balls, a red and a blue ball.

If the robot walked up to the blue and ignored the ball, but saw the red ball and knocked it off of its pedestal, then the challenge completed successfully.
